On Friday 1st July 2022 clinical commissioning groups (CCG's) across the country were closed and were replaced by new NHS organisations known as Integrated Care Boards.

Therefore, NHS East Lancashire CCG no longer exists and has been replaced (along with the othe seven CCGs in Lancashire and South Cumbria) by the new NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB)

Joint Committee of CCG's

The Joint Committee of Clinical Commissioning Groups (JCCCG) is a meeting of the Clinical Commissioning Groups in Lancashire and South Cumbria which is held in public and chaired by Phil Watson CBE, who is independent of the health organisations. Following the meeting there will be an opportunity for questions from the public to the committee.

The JCCCG will be responsible for making decisions about any future proposals referred to it by the CCGs. Any decisions that will need to be made will have been escalated because they require a Lancashire and South Cumbria approach, but most decisions about healthcare will be taken locally.

The committee is made up of GPs and lay members from each of the Clinical Commissioning Groups in Lancashire and South Cumbria. Chief Executives from Lancashire County Council, Blackburn with Darwen Council, Blackpool Council, representatives from district Councils, local Healthwatch are not members of the Committee, but attend the meetings.

If members of the public would like to attend the JCCCG, they are asked to contact the Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria Team on 01253 951630 or by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. We will ensure that the committee meetings will be held in venues across Lancashire and South Cumbria to enable people to attend. In order to make best use of NHS money, we are using public sector premises which will let us use their premises without charge. We apologise in advance if this means we are unable to hold meetings in all boroughs because of charging policies.

The next meetings will be held on:

  • Thursday 4th October 2018 -  Venue TBC
  • Thursday 1st November 2018 - Venue TBC
  • Thursday 7th March 2019 - Venue TBC
